LA Dragons 4.9 (33) def Sacramento 0.0 (0)
Another bright and sunny day in SoCal saw the boys from Sacramento make their way down to LA. With many of our starting 18 out, we were presented with challenges across the field. Fortunately enough the Dr. (Dre) missed his flight to Chicago, which allowed him to play – which gave our depleted back line some much-needed experience and strength. As the run to the National championships gets closer, the boys know that selection is going to be tough to make the starting 24. And potentially this pressure is starting to impact our team, as we did not play anywhere near our capability and to the level, we expect of each other as a collective. We did run away with a strong victory, with the score 4.9 to 0.0. Our backline was sensational in stopping the ball, and the mids were great at getting defensive and driving the ball into attack. Our forward line is starting to work together, and they will only get better. Sacramento taught us some very valuable lessons in regards to attack on the ball. What they lacked in skill, they made up for in endeavor. Well done boys, great effort in very unpleasant conditions and to keep Sacramento scoreless was an outstanding achievement.
Best players for the day: Tom Grigg, Jacko, JK, DRock, and Dre.
