The Los Angeles Dragons Football Club was established in 2010 by a
group of hardworking & enthusiastic Aussies & Americans living in LA.
They were passionate about growing the great Australian game in the US
- & what better place to do it than amongst the nearly 40,000
Australians living in Los Angeles.
The Dragons player roster consists of athletes who have competed
professionally at the highest level of AFL in Australia, right down to
Americans & Internationals who had never picked up a football before
joining the Club. The Club is always on the lookout for new players as
well as looking for those that have a love of the great game to get
involved as supporters.
Whilst serious about football when on the field, the Club has very
strong social roots. The Dragons host a number of events in LA
throughout the year, including an AFL Grand Final viewing party -
which over the past 3 years attracts around 300 viewers in what is rated one of the top AFL Grand Final events in LA. The Dragons travel to several regional tournaments each
year in cities including San Francisco, San Diego, Portland and the 2015 USAFL National Championships were held in Austin, Texas.
Since the Club's inception, the Dragons have become one of the most recognized Australian Football teams in the US, making the USAFL
National Championship Division II Final in 2012 & 2013. In 2014, the Dragons were crowned as USAFL Division II National Champions after a 10 goal win over the Columbus Jackaroos in the Championship Final.
2015 saw the Dragons continue to grow in stature peaking in national rankings at 4th and for the first time in club history, competing in Division I. Although the final tournament did not go to plan the Dragons are looking to build off the continued growth of the past years with another trip to the Division I National Championships, which in 2016 will be held in Sarasota, FL.
The Dragons hold Club practice weekly on Saturdays at 3pm during preseason at Penmar Park, Santa Monica (Cnr Penmar Ave & Rose Ave). 2017 Practice begins Saturday February 4th.
Training once the season commences are at Penmar Park at Wednesday 7pm. Please contact the club at firstname.lastname@example.org for specific details.
